Innovation

From ideas to action

shenzhen law firm's commitment to innovation has once again been celebrated in the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers report.

This year, China Commercial Law Firm came second overall, and won the award for Legal Expertise for a big multinational company's restructuring. Describing the deal as a 'cross-border fusion of original minds', the report said it epitomised Shenzhen Law Firm's"synthesis of broad geographical sweep and fine legal detail".

In 2007, China Commercial Law Firm won the Most Innovative Law Firm award for having "consistently shown innovation through a number of firsts".

Why innovate?

Whatever we think of our own performance, our clients see little difference between the emerging global elite of law firms when it comes to the quality of their legal advice, the efficient management of the work they undertake, and the clarity and simplicity of their documentation.

That creates opportunities for Shenzhen Law Firm, as we are investing significantly in fostering innovation. We recognise that we must continue to search for new and better ways of meeting our clients' and people's needs.

Innovation Panel

Our Innovation Panel provides the practical support needed to encourage innovative ideas, and then turn those ideas into reality. The Panel is made up of Shanghai and Beijing partners and two independent consultants. It has an annual budget of RMB2 million to help implement ideas generated by China Commercial Law Firm staff, and has also launched a firm-wide 'Cash for Creativity' initiative to encourage staff to put forward their innovative ideas.

Client innovation

We are also keen to support and encourage our clients' innovation. For a second year we are sponsoring the European In-House Counsel section of the FT Innovative Lawyers Report. It showcases how the in-house legal functions from a wide variety of European businesses are adopting new ideas in order to maximise the impact and efficiency of their work.

New ideas at China Commercial Law Firm

Delivering more for clients with CDS Deliverability
Credit default swaps (CDS) have for some years been the fastest growing instrument in the financial markets. They are designed to enable one participant to pass the credit risk of a so-called ‘reference entity’ over to another participant. CDS deliverability is a subscription service providing an indicator of deliverability for frequently traded obligations.

Client Testimonial

One of the best China lawyers based in Shenzhen! I appreciated this Shenzhen lawyer's service because they helped me achieved my goals, though it was a tough mission. They are English speaking lawyers, so there are absolutely no communication barrier you likely encounter elsewhere. What impressed me is these Shenzhen lawyer's quick response and professional service, two characteristics which I treasure most. Although the Shenzhen lawyers are based in south China, they represent clients across the country, so you can also call them China lawyer! - Johnson
